The Dragons of Heaven are also known as the Ten no Ryuu, or the Seven Seals. They are to protect the kekkais of Tokyo, which, if destroyed, would bring about the destruction of Tokyo, and then the world. Advised by the dreamwatcher Hinoto, the seven Dragons of Heaven are Shirou Kamui, Kishuu Arashi, Arisugawa Sorata, Aoki Seiichirou, Kasumi Karen, Nekoi Yuzuriha, Sumeragi Subaru. If one of them is killed, their individual kekkais is destroyed, which puts Tokyo (and the world) in serious jeopardy.
The Dragons of Earth are also known as the Chi no Ryuu, or the Seven Angels (Destroyers). They are to destroy the kekkais of Tokyo to release the Dragons to destroy all of the people on Earth. Once the people are destroyed, the Earth can regrow and heal itself because of all the damage that people have done to it. The sister of Hinoto, another dreamwatcher named Kanoe, advises them. The other members are Monou Fuuma, Nataku, Kigai Yuuto, Yatouji Satsuki, Shiyu Kusanagi, Sakurazuka Seishirou, Kakyou Kuzuki.
Fuuma and Kamui were childhood friends, and are known as Twin Stars. They are each other. Destiny preordained them for the purposes of becoming Dragons of Heaven and Earth. The choice lay on Kamui's shoulders. He could have gone either way: become a Dragon of Heaven, or a Dragon of Earth. Whatever side he chose, Fuuma had to be on the opposing side of. Of course neither of them knew this. When Kamui chose to join the Dragons of Heaven, Fuuma became interested in only one thing: killing.
